Literature Text

'Leave me be' the kind man said,
For his eyes, were long dead,
Though this did not stop the terrors of night,
Which were clear to him, as brightest light.

'Never will I see again,
But I do not wish for sight,
For I know it will disappear in the long, returning night,
Maybe when angel choir sing,
The truth that they will bring.

The darkness is horrible, but I must bide,
For the terrors are a flowing, ebbing tide,
Devious is the lark that sings,
For the siren inside the darkness it brings.'

The kind man is not long dead,
Heading his way with God,
The fear of darkness is great,
But now I leave it to fate.
This is a poem I composed, about the terrors of the night, those horrible, vividly real dreams you get that you cannot get rid of
